Executive Director After School/Summer Program
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mahoosuc Kids Association (MKA) is seeking an experienced Executive Director for its
multi-site, after school and summer programs.
MKA, an independent non-profit organization, has an agreement with the Maine School
Administrative District #44 to provide after-school and summer program services to its K-12 public
schools in Bethel and Woodstock, Maine. Those schools include Crescent Park School Elementary,
Woodstock Elementary School, and Telstar Regional Middle/High School.
The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Directors and is a full-time, year-round position
responsible for the overall management of the program, including staff supervision, financial
management, program planning, goal setting, licensing and community relations.
Responsibilities include:
● Coordinating enrollment
● Hiring and supervising MKA staff, overseeing professional development
● Overseeing all MKA finances including tuition collection, payroll, budget planning, scholarships,
and financial forecasting
● Grant writing
● Working closely with Board of Directors, attending and preparing reports for monthly meetings
● Supervising planning of non-school day programs
● Communicating with families regarding program policies and activities, working with parents
to resolve concerns
● Maintaining positive relationships with school principals, school staff, the recreation
department, and other community partners and agencies
JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Evidence of effective leadership experience and/or potential, including strong interpersonal,
communication, collaboration, problem-solving and organizational skills.
● Strong management and budget development skills
● Knowledge of all Department of Health and Human Services licensing regulations
● Ability to work positively with school/district personnel and others to resolve questions and
concerns
● Ability to coordinate multi-school programs that operate under a policy framework and require
ongoing program monitoring and staff training
● Demonstrated success in taking initiative and managing projects
● Ability to utilize technology effectively, including as a tool to improve program efficiency and
effectiveness
● Available to respond to program needs during program hours
● Bachelor’s degree required.
● Experience in role(s) that developed the above-mentioned qualifications, with specific
experience in education, extended school care, or camp management
Starting Salary: $35-40,000
